it is important to outline potential crowd problems because to reduce panic in the crowd as well as checking for unexpected crowd movement make sure that people are calm and reduce risk problems

Stewards should monitor crowds by being visible and warning and calming to people in the crowd but without provoking people in the crowd and escalating as well as making sure you talk you talk clearly but with authority

This includes things racial discriminations and sexual discrimination as well as violent acts and the use illegal substances

1.4 state what stewards should do when they identify potential crowd problems

 

the thing that stewards should do is to make sure that you confront the people as soon as possible to make sure that it stop as soon as possible

 

1.5 outline the procedures stewards are asked to follow in response to different types of crowd problem

they need to contact their supervisors first to tell them what is happening and then they have to tell them where it is happening then they need to tell how many are involved and who they have there to help

 

 

1.6 outline why it is important for stewards to remain calm and follow instructions when there are potential crowd problems

They need to keep calm because it could if they do not show their professionalism and get violent towards crowd members then other members of public will not trust the stewards and could potentially turn on to the stewards

If there is a fire in a stadium then it is their responsibility to every out of the building which could put them at risk of getting stuck in the fire.

 

 

1.8 identify how stewards can avoid placing themselves and others at risk when trying to respond to potential crowd problems

 

Stewards can avoid placing themselves and others at risk by beforehand placing cordons out to help make a steady flow of public. They can make different exits as to not overcrowd areas. Stewards should wear high visibility jackets and stand behind the cordons and in safe places as to not injure themselves.

 

 

2.1 outline why it is important for stewards to recognise and respond to illegal and

unsociable behaviour

 

it is important for stewards to recognise what is illegal and unsociable behaviour which could be people hiding in corners dealing drugs, taking drugs in the toilets or in hidden places. They should respond by informing their supervisor without arousing suspicion from the offender as this could implicate your safety. You should also bring a security officer with you as they have more powers to arrest them.   

 

 

 

2.2 identify the types of illegal behaviour that may occur at spectator events

 

·         Types of illegal behaviour –

·         Racial discrimination, sexual discrimination, disability discrimination

·         Threatening behaviour- this could be due to alcohol or drugs or a disability.

·         Violence and other types of behaviour against the law (smoking, use of illegal drugs, criminal damage, vandalism, theft)

 

 

2.3 outline the procedures stewards should follow when they encounter illegal

behaviour

 

You should report to your supervisor if possible and explain when it happened where it happened, and follow their instructions to deal with the illegal behaviour. Talking to the police giving statements you may also have to go to court to be a witness. 

 

 

2.4 identify the types of unsociable behaviour that may occur at spectator events

 

The unsociable behaviour that may occur at spectator events is that is the consumption of illegal substances as well as discrimination including racism, sexism and about disabilities and anything that could compromise the safety of the event and the people 

 

2.5 outline the procedures stewards should follow when they encounter unsociable

behaviour

 

If stewards come under unsociable behaviour they should try and deal with appropriately and report it to a supervisor when appropriate with as much detail as possible
